An excellent supplement
By James Yanni
This book is an excellent supplement to a history or political science textbook; it has 13 short chapters, each with a somewhat detailed look at one specific example of our political system in action. It is quite readable, in addition to being quite informative, and gives a reasonably unbiased look at many aspects of politics in our country. It wouldn't be very useful as a primer or as a primary textbook, but as a supplement, it is excellent.

Politics in Action
By Dr. Edwin B. Kornblue
This book was recommended by the Prof. teaching a History course that I am auditing. It more than meets the needs for the purpose of the course, particularly in my case, where I cannot be as active a participant as the students.
